Kashrut certificate
Gassot tefillin are made from a single piece of thick cowhide, pressed and shaped into a perfectly square box. Their sturdiness allows them to be repaired and re-squared over a lifetime.
The parchments are written by a certified sofer of your tradition, in the script chosen above (Ashkenazi, Sefarad, Ari Zal or Admur Hazaken), at kosher lemehadrin level: complete letters, crisp tagin, computer check and proofreading. Ari Zal and Admur Hazaken scripts are written to order.
The pair ships with kosher straps (knot according to your tradition), a hard case, a named certificate and a wearing guide.
Handwritten on parchment (klaf) from a kosher animal, with halachically valid black ink, by a certified sofer. Computer check of every letter, then proofreading by a second sofer. Ships with a kashrut certificate.
Every scroll is checked twice before shipping: by computer, letter by letter, then proofread by a second sofer. The named certificate attests to this check.
Tracked and insured shipping from France or Israel. In-stock items ship within 2 business days. Items written to order show their lead time on the product page.

Gassot are made from one piece of thick leather, very durable and repairable; they are the mehudar standard. Peshutim mehudarim are also one piece but thin leather: kosher and cheaper, less durable. Avoid plain "peshutim" glued from several pieces.
At least 2 to 3 months before the date: writing the parchments and making the batim takes several weeks, and the boy should practice putting them on before he is obligated.
