Send us your mezuzot: a sofer checks them, repairs them where possible and returns a report.
≈ US$13 (indicative, charged in euros)
Halacha requires checking mezuzot twice every seven years. Over time, ink can crack, letters fade and parchment degrade, making the mezuzah pasul (invalid) without anyone noticing.
Order one check per mezuzah, then send us your scrolls (instructions by email). A sofer examines every letter, performs permitted repairs and returns your mezuzot with a written report.
Tracked and insured shipping from France or Israel. In-stock items ship within 2 business days. Items written to order show their lead time on the product page.
Scrolls are sacred handwritten items: they can only be returned for a kashrut defect confirmed by a sofer. Cases and accessories can be returned within 14 days.
10 cm is the standard for most cases. 7 cm suits small decorative cases. 12 and 15 cm give wider lettering, which is more legible and more durable over time; it is the recommended choice for the front door.
Halacha requires checking twice every seven years (Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh Deah 291). Many have them checked yearly during Elul, before Rosh Hashanah. Mezuzot exposed to humidity or sun deteriorate faster.
