Send a clear photo of your scroll: a sofer tells you within 48 hours whether it is kosher or needs a physical check.
≈ US$5 (indicative, charged in euros)
A quick first opinion without mailing your mezuzah. After ordering, you receive photo instructions by email (scroll unrolled flat, daylight, two photos). A sofer examines the writing and replies within 48 business hours: kosher at first sight, needs physical checking (doubtful letters, cracks), or pasul.
A photo does not replace the physical check required by halacha twice every seven years, but it helps spot urgent cases. The amount is deducted if you then order a physical check or a replacement mezuzah.
Tracked and insured shipping from France or Israel. In-stock items ship within 2 business days. Items written to order show their lead time on the product page.
Scrolls are sacred handwritten items: they can only be returned for a kashrut defect confirmed by a sofer. Cases and accessories can be returned within 14 days.
10 cm is the standard for most cases. 7 cm suits small decorative cases. 12 and 15 cm give wider lettering, which is more legible and more durable over time; it is the recommended choice for the front door.
Halacha requires checking twice every seven years (Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh Deah 291). Many have them checked yearly during Elul, before Rosh Hashanah. Mezuzot exposed to humidity or sun deteriorate faster.
